The Libyan-Egyptian High Committee hosted a series of bilateral trade meetings in Tripoli on 9 December, Al Fajar Al Jadeed reported.

Libya and Italy signed two deals in Rome last week to cooperate on healthcare and illegal immigration. 

The five-member Arab Maghreb Union (AMU) agreed to implement its long-delayed agricultural free trade area in 2011, according to Magharebia.com, a North African news website.

The Libyan-Zimbabwean Joint Committee signed a series of memoranda of understanding on 8 December, the Jamahiriya News Agency (JANA) reported.

The third Africa-EU Summit, themed "Investment, Economic Growth and Job Creation", was held on 29-30 November in Tripoli.

Foreign Ministry officials from Greece met with the GPC of Foreign Liaison’s Secretary of Cooperation Affairs on 1 December to discuss bilateral relations, Al Fajar Al Jadeed reported.

A number of agreements have been signed between Ukraine and Libya during Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov’s visit to Tripoli on 22-24 November.

Libya and Sierra Leone signed an investment and cooperation agreement on 21 November, Al Shams reported.

In its 10 November meeting, the General People’s Committee (GPC) agreed to establish a commercial representative office in Singapore, state-owned news agency PANA has reported.

Maltese Foreign Minister Tonio Borg told the Maltese parliament on 4 November that relations between Libya and Malta are strong and may be further cemented soon by a cooperation agreement.

Following a meeting of their respective Prime Ministers in Tunis in early November, Libya and Tunisia have agreed to ease restrictions at their land border at Ras al Jedir.

The secretary of the General People’s Committee, Al Baghdadi Ali Al Mahmoudi, announced on 1 November that Libyan investors in the industry, education, health and tourism sectors will be eligible for credit worth up to 50% of their project's capital, Al Jamahiria has reported.

Following a visit in October by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, Libya and Venezuela have signed a series of deals to increase bilateral ties in areas including energy, defence, agriculture, education and joint investment projects, Al Shams has reported.

The GPC for Industry, Economy and Trade held a Libya-Chad economic meeting in October, signing agreements to increase bilateral trade between the neighbouring states.

Libyan Prime Minister Baghdadi Al Mahmoudi said on 6 August that the government would create a $100m investment fund focussed on Niger, which borders Libya to the south-west.
